Obey this movie!

Shepard Fairey has been making out like it's April 1st everyday it seems like. Well, to each their own. I do have to give him credit for knowing how to demand & command attention.

Well, got me noticing. In my travels on the interwebs something caught my eye (and it wasn't shiny). It appeared to be a music video of some sort with an Obey poster plastered across the first frame. So I thought to check it out for the visual aesthetics at least. Lo and behold this is a banging song that with an amazing showcase of how to take 2d and get it moving to appear as though it's 3d. After the song was done I checked out who it was, N.A.S.A. "Money" feat. David Byrne, Chuck D, Ras Congo, Seu Jorge, & Z-Trip. One look at that, everything was explained so much better and was forever sold. I was blown away half way through the song when the change up comes and the video to audio syncing is so tight it hurts.

Best Airline Complaint Ever Written

The following complaint letter to Continental Airlines kvetching about being seated next to the lavatory can only be described as "epic." You can practically smell those yucky blue toilet chemicals that are supposed to make bathroom stench go away but instead intensify the stink. Complete with drawings and writing that Dostoevsky would have tipped his hat to, this letter is also freaking hilarious. I like to call it Notes From Above the Ground. Enjoy.

The funniest 7 page complaint letter I've ever read. I was in tears! And could barely read it... took me ten minutes in between laughter. I could just imagine this guy sitting in this seat writing out this letter with vehement vigour.

I found this in exclaim!★@# and absolutely lost it. This is an absolutely fantastic campaign ad, I love it and laughed my ass off. That's such a stellar smile!!

Hot Buttered Soul #12

In case you didn't know, let me put you on notice... I host a radio show. It's on a small community radio station that gives what those commercial stations can't.... a little bit of soul and a whole lot of love. The name of the show if you haven't figured it out is called Hot Buttered Soul and there is a different host for each day of the week. So you get a wide range of butter that's good for your soul, and that's hot!

Recently I've had the pleasure of listening to DJ Lo Down Loretta brOWN through the interwebs. It's been a mixture of soul, rhythm and flow. Song after song she takes me on an adventure. So in the spirit of life and breathing life into this world I've collected the following cats to celebrate a wonderful event. A new life brought into this world to breathe her first breath...

Hot, Buttered Soul... #11

An inaugural soul mix for a day of inauguration. Whenever I think Obama, I think of The Pointer Sisters singing "Yes we can, can!" And so we can, can... kick it up a notch and dedicate this mix to three fine words, Change Has Come.

So in the name of Obama, Barack that ass up and drop it like it's hot. Joining us to help the President to strut his stuff, the following magicians have come together:

That's another edition of Hot, Buttered Soul for the books. This was my 11th show on CFCR 90.5fm. I've been doing a show every other week and I'm pleased to hear that I will be doing it every Friday as soon as some guy sells his car and moves ;) So in the next week or so I will be dropping rhythms on a weekly basis taking the Friday shift to present to you a gift... a gift of my some of my soul within the soul that I share with you.

Virgin for over 25 years...

This weeked was an impromptu flash back to big hair, perms, righteous tunes and my ever longing for a Trans Am like Smokey and The Bandit.

I did however come across a couple of fantastic ads for Virgin airlines that had a little bit of that 80's charm to lend to the end of a fantastic #80sphotowkd ;)

010_Hot, Buttered Soul...

This is the first show of the year and wanted to stretch the canvas and paint some "happy little trees". I've picked a few good hues using a splendidly discrete palette, my fan brushes are at my side and Bob Ross my creative co-pilot.

Joining us to paint our wonderful landscape are the kids who've got the skills to pay the bills. There's a few of them from today, way back in the day and some other cats that just got something to say... either way, today was a good day ;)

Take It Back...

Thought it was me, I really did.
A little bit of love is all it takes.
